The Champagnes of Michel Arnould & Fils are all 100% Grand Cru with the Pinot Noir coming from their vineyards in Verzenay on the famed “Montagne de Reims” and the Chardonnay from their vineyards in Cramant on the Grand Cru “Côte de Blanc”. The vineyards in Verzenay are considered among the best vineyards in the Champagne region as the northerly orientation of the vineyards benefits from the action of the cold on the yeast, which produces more and better-formed bubbles. This family owned business produces Champagnes that consistently win awards and earn high ratings in the French wine press.
This “Tête de Cuvée” of Champagne Michel Arnould is the premium champagne produced by this small family owned house. It is only produced in the best years and is always 100% vintage though not noted on the bottle. This provides the freedom to express the best character of the winegrower thus producing the best wine they can.
The blend is made from 70% Pinot Noir specifically from their 12 hectares in Verzenay and 30% Chardonnay from their small vineyard in Cramant. A wine of this caliber needs time on the lees in the cellar and the Grande Cuvée rests a minimum of 5 years before being prepared for sale.
“This is champagne for the most demanding moments” says Patrick Arnould.
