Les Belles Dames
Sancerre

Sancerre is one of a number of appellations in the upper Loire river valley that produce some of the best Sauvignon Blanc wines in the world. A cool climate and chalky limestone soils yield wines that are full-flavored and distinctive, from grapes that are just ripe enough to offer an excellent balance of fruit and acidity. Known for their elegant richness, these wines are superb at the table or equally suited as an aperitif.

Les Belles Dames is one of a series of single vineyard Sancerre wines produced by the Gitton family. The soil of the Les Belles Dames vineyard is based on "Silex" meaning flint-based limestone. The nose is captivating with floral and fresh fruit aromas. Smooth and silky impressions follow through on the palatte which linger long into the finish.
An elegant, flavorful and reasonably-priced wine that can be served with an enormous variety of dishes such as oysters, clams, shellfish, grilled fish or lighter fish served with or without full-flavored sauces, or other vegetable dishes where lighter but challenging flavors are prominent.
