Domaine Durieu
 Côtes du Rhône Blanc
Côtes du Rhône
The vineyards of Paul Durieu begin on some of the original property of the archbishops of Avignon where he and his winemaker sons, Vincent and Francois produce their Châteauneuf du Pape on 21 hectares (~50 acres) and extends further into the regional Côtes du Rhone & Côtes du Rhone –Villages appellations where they produce regional wines with the same care and skill as their flagship Châteauneuf du Pape. Overall, the vineyards are composed of clay and the famous “galets”, small rounded stones that were brought down from the Alps during the last Ice Age. Although famous for red wines, white grapes are also grown in the region for a lovely range of dry white wines.

Their Côtes du Rhone Blanc sec is produced using Picpoul, Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, and Clairette grapes.

This crisp and refreshing Côtes du Rhone Blanc is juicy and clean with flavors of green apples, pears with a nice mineral component that imparts a lovely dimension to this quaffable white wine.

It makes an excellent aperitif, goes very well with fish or lightly seasoned poultry dishes, salads and is an ideal picnic wine as it can stand up to exotic flavors like curry.
